The Hunt Is On

Party Pack 01: a party game on your phones

Read the Room

All ages · 2 to 12 players · Group guessing game

Hot or cold? Bogan or fancy? One clue, one secret spot on the dial, and the whole room tries to land on it.

How Read the Room plays

  1. Get the card. The clue-giver sees two opposites, like Cold and Hot, and a secret spot between them on their phone only.
  2. Give one clue. They say one thing out loud that sits at that spot. Hot chips? A winter swim? Everyone else drags their own dial.
  3. Read the room. The target lands on every phone at once. The closer your dial, the more points, up to 4 for bang on. Then the next player gives the clue.

Your host

Hosted by Gail the Galah

Gail is the loudest bird on the powerline, and tonight she runs the show. She reads every card out loud, calls the clue-giver up, squawks when someone lands bang on and gives the room a gentle roast when a dial flies south.

She speaks from one phone you pick as the speaker, with her words on every screen. Played it before? Skip her intro and get straight in.

Questions about Read the Room

How does Read the Room score?

The closer your dial lands to the secret spot, the more you score, up to 4 points for bang on. Everyone takes a turn giving the clue.

Is it OK for kids?

Yes. The all-ages cards are family-safe. The grown-ups cards are cheekier and for 18 and over; the host picks before the game starts.

How many can play?

2 to 12, in the same room, each on their own phone.

Does everyone need to buy Party Pack 01?

No. Only the host buys the pack, once. Everyone they invite joins free with the room's QR code or code, signed in or as a guest, every time.

Do we need an app or a TV?

No. It runs in each phone's web browser. The host opens a party, everyone scans the code, and every phone is that player's own screen.

How much is it?

It comes in Party Pack 01, with all 10 games. The host pays once and the pack is theirs for good; the price for today shows on this page and at checkout.
