How Checkout Time plays

  1. Check in. You are guests at Mistwood Guesthouse on a stormy night. A guest has vanished, and one of the four staff is behind it.
  2. Answer to survive. A trivia question lands on every phone. Get it right and you earn a private clue. Get it wrong and you face a 15-second challenge on your own phone; fail it and you play on as a ghost, whispering clues to the living.
  3. Name the culprit. At dawn everyone votes in secret. Name the right member of staff and you escape.

Questions about Checkout Time

Is it scary?

It is spooky, not gory. Nothing is shown: a guest has vanished, the storm rattles the house and the clues point at the staff. The stormy night is for 10 and up; After hours is for 15 and up.

What happens if I get knocked out?

You become a ghost. You keep answering, and every right answer lets you whisper your clue to someone still living. Ghosts can still solve it.

How long does it take?

About 15 to 25 minutes, with 6, 8 or 10 questions.

Does everyone need to buy Party Pack 01?

No. Only the host buys the pack, once. Everyone they invite joins free with the room's QR code or code, signed in or as a guest, every time.

Do we need an app or a TV?

No. It runs in each phone's web browser. The host opens a party, everyone scans the code, and every phone is that player's own screen.

How much is it?

It comes in Party Pack 01, with all 10 games. The host pays once and the pack is theirs for good; the price for today shows on this page and at checkout.
